HSCALE continues its commitment to creating value in Norway at a pivotal time for digital infrastructure
17.07.2026
Oslo, 17/07/2026 – HSCALE will continue its role on the board of Norwegian Datacenter Industry (NDI), with Pelle Gangeskar re-elected for a further term following the association’s general assembly.
NDI’s newly elected board is chaired by Jon Gravråk, CEO of Bulk Infrastructure, with Atle Haga of Stack Infrastructure as vice chair. The board draws members from across the data centre, technology and energy sectors.
The new term arrives as Norway weighs some consequential decisions for the industry. Power access, permitting and regulation are all under active discussion, and the Norwegian government is carrying out a broad review of the country’s data centre sector. NDI is also gearing up for Arendalsuka in August and the Norwegian Data Center Week in September.
How these questions are resolved will shape Norway’s ability to attract investment and build digital infrastructure that pays off for businesses, communities and the wider economy. The country has real advantages: renewable energy, a skilled workforce, a stable political and operating environment. Making the most of them will take predictable rules, real dialogue between industry and government, and a shared understanding of what digital infrastructure actually does for a connected economy.
For HSCALE, staying on the NDI board means bringing operational experience to the table and taking part in the conversation about how Norway grows this sector responsibly.
“Norway has a strong foundation for building digital infrastructure that creates value both locally and nationally. At the same time, this is a critical period for the industry. How we approach power, permitting and regulation will now shape the industry’s next phase. Furthermore, together with our suppliers, partners and end users, we can and will make the data centre areas in Norway attractive locations to live, and work for future generations. The data centre industry represents an unprecedented investment boom in rural Norway, securing national policies of developing not only the large cities. I look forward to continuing my work with NDI and bringing HSCALE’s expert perspective to the table,” says Pelle Gangeskar.
As the industry draws more public and political attention, being able to explain clearly what it does, and why it matters, has become crucial. Data centres underpin cloud services, digital businesses and emerging technologies. It is no longer enough to describe how they operate; the industry also needs to show how responsible development supports investment, jobs, skills and innovation in Norway.
HSCALE congratulates Jon Gravråk on his election as chair, Atle Haga as vice chair, and all returning and newly elected board members. We look forward to working together over the coming term.
